Hyundai made sure all trim levels on the Elantra come with the automaker’s latest safety tech standard, including traction and stability control, plus six airbags. Many convenience features are standard such as Bluetooth; power windows, locks, and mirrors; while luxury amenities include heated front and rear leather seats, and an available navigation system with a backup camera. For the 2012 model year, automatic transmission-equipped Elantras gain an ActiveECO System, new steering calibration, and an updated horn.
The Elantra’s redesign featured a heaping helping of Hyundai’s new design language, lending it a more upscale and head-turning look than before. Hyundai says the new design language “considers the interplay of wind with rigid surfaces to create the illusion of constant motion.” Fog lights have been added to the SEL Preferred Package. As for wheels, 15-inch steel wheels are standard, but both steel and alloy 16-inch wheels are available for the SEL and the Limited trim level comes standard with 17-inch alloys.
